ACR Kart Race and Veteran Benefit Car Show Recap

Arizona Corvette Racing members had a fantastic time!  ACR members met at the Top Shelf Bar across the parking lot from the Phoenix Indoor Karting. We had 10 people show up and 8 drove!

All the Corvettes at the Benefit Car Show looked great. Bob even brought his stock car – 700 hp alcohol! Wow! The food was excellent since the restaurant cooks and smokes the pork overnight. We had our own section of the place fenced off for ACR and the service was great.

Karts were pretty fast since they were electric – we had one bad one and about 3 or 4 extra fast ones.  Competition was great and the track was big (larger than the old Octane track).  The location took over a 150,000 sq ft Kmart to setup the new track!! Dave got first, Bob second and Brian third.  Got a podium picture and everyone got a trophy. 🙂

In addition, we had R/C cars and the remote control track is the largest in the state and those little cars were darn fast!  You ran you R/C car from the second floor on an observation deck over the track. Took some practice to get the hang of it! They had R/C airplanes too!
